I have an Air King model 2EJR6J/9155 window fan that I bought five years ago and use daily to cool my apartment about six months during the year.
The fan has recently started making a buzzing sound while running. However the buzzing sound stops as soon as the power switch is turned off and the blades are still spinning down. Here is a video demonstration:

I figure it is an electrical problem rather than the rotor rubbing the frame or the bearings being worn out. The manual says it has a 3-speed split capacitor motor.
Does anyone know what the problem is and what would be needed to fix it?
