Reluctance to Sell Heat Pumps in Southeast Florida?

Thank you for considering my question. I'm a new homeowner who is replacing a working 24 year old 4-ton AC and ducts in southeast Florida (near West Palm Beach) and many of the better contractors seem hesitant to sell heat pumps stating they prefer straight AC with heat strips... I'm only considering high-tier variable speed units and while heat pumps are indeed more expensive / have shorter lifespans I believe they should dehumidify more effectively (cycling between cooling and heating) when there's little demand allowing me to easily keep my home around 75 degrees and <50% humidity year round. Do you think this reluctance is due to the additional expense of heat pumps, lessened demand for heat in Florida, or perhaps something else like equipment shortages? I certainly don't want to pressure the contractors into installing / maintaining equipment they don't like or aren't familiar with. Thank you!
