I have an 80% 88K BTU furnace and a 34K BTU water heater in a closet with two ducts to the exterior. Neither duct starts within the top or bottom 12" of the wall, which is making me want to try and calculate the combustion air. In the closet, both ducts are 12" X 3" rectangular and rise vertically on the wall. At the top of the ducts, they transition to 10" round ducts. The round ducts are about 12" long and run horizontally to the exterior. The round ducts then terminate at the exterior in a metal box with a 17" x 17" louvered cover.
How much air is passing through these ducts for combustion air? Thanks!
