Greetings! First of all, thanks in advance for reading this! Here are the facts:
1) I have a comfortmaker furnace (in attic) and outside condenser (A/C unit)
2) I went to use it the first time this year and of course it did not work!
3) I went out to the exterior a/c unit and when I push the button on the "contactor" the a/c unit starts right up! (I replaced the capacitor last year). I took my multimeter and the contactor is NOT getting 24v from the wire coming from the furnace.
4) Checked the breaker in the basement and it is fine
5) Checked the batteries in the thermostat: Fine
6) Checked the yellow wire in thermostat and it gives 24 volts
7) Went to the attic and used my multimeter and getting 24v on both the yellow wire (A/C) and the green (BLOWER)
8) Replaced the 5 amp fuse on the furnace circuit board (It looked fine but just in case).
9) Yesterday I am pretty sure the blower was working but now it is not!
10) I turned the blower on constant (with no A/C or heat) via the thermostat. Blower still would not run, I tried to push start the "hampster wheel" on the blower (in both directions) and the blower would not start (thus I assume the problem is not the blower capacitor). the "hampster wheel" would turn with no resistance to I don't think it is the bearings.
11) I checked the back of the circuit board and I see no burns of any sort. Visually it looks fine.
12) when I turn on the furnace switch I can hear a very, very light buzz.
13) Float switch appears to be fine (green light)
I attached some photos.
I am stumped! Could someone give some insight?
Thanks!
