I want to upgrade by dual fuel situation with a new inducing heat pump. My furnace is an Amana 2 stage, variable speed, 80% with a lifetime replacement warranted stainless steel heat exchanger. It has settings to reduce blower speed during periods of high humidity. Techs tell me it looks almost new. BUT, it's also almost 20 years old.
Should I add the new heat pump to it or sacrifice this fine furnace because of its age? All opinions will be much appreciated.
