Hi all,
I'm working with a general contractor to build a custom home in MN. It will have two levels and will be 3400 square feet finished. The HVAV system currently spec'd out is:
92% single stage furnace
13 SEER AC
HRV with volume control
Humidifier
Two zones with damper and 2nd thermostat for lower level
In the old house that we currently live in we like to keep the fan on "low" to keep air circulating even when the system isn't running. I would like to be able to do that or something similar with the new system.
I'm wondering if I should consider upgrading any part of the system.
Do you think I really need a humidifier? My two previous homes were always on the humid side- water condensing on windows in winter.
Would the HRV be controlled by the thermostat or is it automatic??? Do I just leave it on all the time,? What if we have windows open,?
Would like to hear your suggestions for this new build.
Thanks!
