thanks for providing this forum. I was just wondering if the box beneath my furnace return was installed correctly. as you can see from the picture return air will now come from the bottom, but in this case, it was at the expense of the return air from the side. so part of the opening for the side return air was closed off because the duct used was the previous one. should a new larger duct have been used accommodate both the bottom and the full opening from the side
