Extremely loud rattling from inside compressor

Hello HVAC Pros,

It's Nathan again, with some more questions. You may remember the system I posted about last year with the green slime on the compressor, likely from sweating. FYI the charge was checked on it by a technician, along with subcool and superheat, and all was in order. So I guess some sweating is normal?

Anyway, the main reason I called the tech to come out was because the same compressor is making an extremely loud but intermittent rattling noise. It is loudest on startup and dies down after half a minute or so of running, but returns every few minutes regularly until the call for cool ends. The house is cooling fine. Nothing is rattling in the compressor mounts or copper lines. The technician replaced the rubber mounting bushings, just in case. I have a video clip where you can hear the rattling but I'm not sure how to post a video here.

This technician was good, but since he was dispatched from my Oneguard home warranty program (I know, I know) he was not allowed to even consider replacing the compressor (which obviously has something loose inside) because there was no over- or under-amp conditions and the pressures and temps were all good.

The condenser itself is under its 5-year parts warranty, as well as the compressor, I assume (Copeland I think). The company which installed the system is now out of business.

1. Any thoughts here as to what might be wrong inside the compressor?
2. Any further thoughts on how to get warranty service? Do you think I would have any success calling Guardian directly?

It is a Guardian 407C 2.5T system.

Details from original install ticket dated 11/26/2016:

Model# GAW14L30C21S
Serial# W1D6482839
ORD# 005010598535

Thanks/Nathan
