I recently replaced the blower motor in my 7-8 year old Rheem WeatherKing DSI gas furnace. It was bad. When I reassembled, I got no spark at the igniter. I checked for voltage at the spark box, and there was none. So, I replaced the control board with a new one. Started making the sound of sparking, but no spark was visible, and after only less-than-a second,, the cycle would restart. It did this continually. I decided that since I could hear the spark (and the gas valve was opening), it must mean that the DSI was shorting out and the spark wasn't reaching the electrodes.
So, I bought and installed a new igniter, and it behave exactly the same. A brief moment of sparking sounds, then a quick restart of the process.
Any advice as to what I should check, and what the issue could be, would save me a lot of frustration. The weather has broken, so it is not an emergency, but I don't like having a nonfunctional furnace
