Trane experts-
I am adding a ventilator to a modern home to help with makeup air issues. The home has a Trane Comfortlink 2 1050 thermostat, a communicating furnace (XC 95m), and a communicating AC (XV20i). Given this there is no easy spot to tie in a ventilator (like the Aprilaire 8145nc) so I'm about to install a relay panel (BAY24VRPAC52DB) so I can use the "Aux" port and control the ventilator from the 1050. I have a couple of questions, though:
a) When I do this, do I have to do anything special in terms of the communicating lines going to the furnace and A/C units? Can I just piggyback on those (parallel wiring), connect them to the relay panel, use the aux port on the panel for the ventilator, and all will be ok? Or do I have to do something odd with the furnace and A/C wiring and put it downstream of the relay panel, use some different method, etc? The diagrams are unclear to me in the relay board manual....
b) Does the Trane marketed ventilator (the Envirowise unit) offer any advantages in terms of interfacing vs units like the Aprilaire?
Any advice appreciated!
