Looking for some input if my new furnace is working properly or not.
New Payne 60,000 btu furnace (2 stage)
1450 SQ single story
New Emerson thermostat (programmable)
New insulation in attic
Lower Michigan with outside temps about 30 degrees
Furnace runs for about 10 minutes and shuts down for about 10 minutes and then runs for 10...
Installer said that is normal and will not hurt anything but I thought it was cycling too often from what I have read online.
Room temp on thermostat reads 67 and it is set for 67
Room temp never changes - installer said that is because the thermostat is so precise that it will turn the furnace on for example at 66.5 and off at 67.5 but the display will still read 67
Im just concerned that the constant on and off will cause premature wear on the furnace - blower motor etc....
I just want this new furnace to last as long as possible. Its not that I don't trust the installer I just like other professional thoughts on it.
He said that he gets many calls about the same concern.
Thanks for any help and input..
