2015 build. Winnipeg Canada. 2 storey 1654
Heat loss load. 31400 btu.
Cooling load 11000 btu.
Builder has 60 btu Goodman gmss96 single stage putting out 57600. 10 foot supply at 16x8 into a 10 foot 12x8 supply with 10 branches off it. Return is 18x8 at the furnace end and a 14x8 at the furthest end. I am going to remove the 13 seer 2.5 ton ac for a 1.5.
0.8 static pressure. 896 cfm supply. 742 return but due to 304 cfm being in the basement I was told to close 200 of it permanently and use the other 100 in the winter heating months. Therefore have 440 to 540 ish return only.
Home performance professional told the Hvac company to increase trunk size, and ducting to 2nd floor with heavy deficiency, and to increase return size to 2nd floor bedroom.
Contractor doesnt want to do the trunks yet I got a quote on the trunks and its not costly at all!!
Any comments and suggestions.
