Hey everyone, been looking for a good forums to post and ask some questions and that's how I stumbled in here. I recently moved into a house that has a Frigidaire mini split unit, and it's my first time using a heat pump. So I've done a bit of research but wanted to see what everyone else's opinions are on whether or not I'm using it efficiently. Also once I have enough posts I'll update this with a picture of the remote because, I really don't know what the half of them do, I only set temperature and choose the mode and I've adjusted the vent flaps.
Anyways, I have a heat pump, it's in my living room which is open concept into the dining room and kitchen, connected to the kitchen is our porch, very long(20feet) but it has a door separating it from the kitchen. On the other side of the living room is another hallway that leads to the main bathroom and two bedrooms, main bedroom also has an ensuite bathroom. So with that bit of background on the layout of the house. I have the heatpump set to 21°C, I keep the door to the porch closed and in that room I have the heat set to 15°. (Also it's only one heat pump in living room, all other rooms are baseboard electric heaters)
I have the baseboard heaters turned off in the kitchen, dining and living room. In the two bedrooms I have the electric heat set to 21°C and no heat on the bathrooms but doors left open.
I'm not sure of the square footage of the house but it is fairly long, all one level. Just wondering if I have my heating set up for the most efficiency or if there's things I'm doing wrong. Also the last few days it seems to be doing a cycle and it will cut out for maybe a minute or two and cut back in, the weather hasn't changed the last week. So unsure of why it's cycling more often then before, woke up this morning and it was on as well and fairly warm in the house, while it's normally not on this often throughout the day.
Long post, if you made it this far, thanks for reading and hopefully you guys can give me some good advice, cheers!
