Company installed a 4-ton Trane Air Handler in my home 2 years ago. Recently had a drain pipe backup and water backed up into the air handler for a couple days. Technician came out and cleared drain and said he detected some mold growth in air handler. He recommended a UV light under the blower fan to get rid of mold. I have read mixed reviews on UV lights in terms of doing more harm than good. Are there any other ways to get rid of mild mold growth inside of air handler, or is a UV light a reasonable option? Thanks.
