I recently purchased a home in central Indiana (2 levels with full basement and walk up attic) that was built in 1912. I have boiler heat coming through radiators throughout the house. That works well. Approx 2,500 sq/ft (includes basement)
Currently have 5 window units cooling the house. I have gotten multiple quotes and have found the company I want to do the install (all the others did not give me any confidence in them).
The company has quoted me the Bosch IDS 1.0 (BOVB-36HDN1-M18M inverter heat pump and BVA-36WN1-M18 Air handler)
However, they also sell/install American Standard and Mitsubishi equipment (I do not have specific model numbers for these).
I would like the system to have a heat pump to help with the shoulder season like we are in now where it gets into the 50's at night for weeks at a time but then back into the 70's and 80's during the day (not worth turning on the boiler).
I also would like it to be an inverter system with variable speed instead of just a multi-stage (If I am off base, please correct me)
I have heard that Bosch IDS 1.0 is not great at controlling humidity but the 2.0 fixed that?
My question: Out of my options (Bosch, American Standard, and Mitsubishi ducted), which one should I be looking at to get a good balance of value, comfort, and quietness?
We are looking at doing two units. One in the basement for the first floor and one in the attic for the upper level
Thanks in advance!
