Hoping for some help...Nordyne M1MB077ABW downflow natural gas furnace went permanently out of service last year and unfortunately winter is upon us, again. Advised that heat exchanger had a large crack so it was tagged as no longer serviceable with replacement being the only solution. This issue is getting down to the wire and was delayed because the expectation was to be out of four seasons weather but family issues have us locked down. A friend who previously worked in HVAC but got out of the business is giving us a hand up to help decrease the installation cost and thankfully he has experience installing mobile home furnaces. This is where the help comes in...I found a great deal on a Nortek MG1E070F1AAM1 downflow natural gas furnace and I am not sure if it is compatible. The sizing will work since the dimensions are the same but outside of this, clueless describes my confidence. Tomorrow is a national holiday and my installer is not available. Can anyone help out?
I do not want to lose out on a great deal but I do not want to waste money. I am trying to save money on the furnace due for the fact that I can guarantee I will not get a return on squat in this mobile home and frankly, I am heading south next year.
