It's being removed, but I'm curious - do you run into this type of design often?
The existing supply plenum is a 20x20 that deadheads into an 8x24 trunk. The effective length of the plenum design is a whopping 150. The short leg is only about 2 feet long and there are 3 runs coming off of it.. one of which is immediately above the plenum. Aside from the velocity loss in the plenum, the 8x24 trunk was seriously undersized and had no chance of carrying the 1300cfm needs of the long leg specified by manual D for the 1600 cfm blower setup.
