Sizing for ductless heat pump
I am looking to install one of those ductless heat pumps for my 1920s home. More for the AC as I have radiator heat.
One guy would install a 12k btu unit and another wants to put in an 18k btu unit. The unit is for the living room but it would be nice if it could help the whole home.
The living room itself is 400 square ft with 9ft. There is a hallway to the rest of the house and another open entrance for the kitchen.
There are 6 very large windows and I know thereÂs some insulation in the attic but I would doubt the walls have anything or much.
I am hoping it will help cool the rest of the home.
They have a 12k 18k or 24k BTU variable speed unit.
ItÂs approximately 1400 square feet not including the basement.
Should I have the 12k or 18k but unit installed?
