Hello all,
I'm working through a decision between 2-stage and variable speed equipment for my home. I am planning to do zoning with either solution but I want to make sure that if I go with variable speed that the furnace location isn't going to be problematic. I've seen in other threads where folks have said variable speed equipment works best when the furnace is in a central location. My furnace is NOT centrally located, it is on the opposite side of the house from my master bedroom which we would be looking to create a zone out of. My current ductwork WILL support the master bedroom being it's own zone as there is a dedicated trunk from the supply so we just need to simply add a zone board and powered damper. I just want to be sure that I am not making a mistake going with variable speed given my furnace location if I will 100% be going with a zone system.
My master bedroom door is approximately 25-30 feet from the furnace location.
