Hi All,
Last year we had installed 3 AC indoor units and 2 outdoor units, done by a certified Carrier Mechanic.
After a couple of weeks we noticed a very soft pulsating high pitched sound coming from the indoor units (2x 42QHg009d8S (2,75kW) that are connected to a multi split compressor.
The Mechanic already visited us multiple times and he cannot find the reason which is causing the Pulsating high Pitched sound, he contacted Carrier he said, but still with no result.
So last month I did some measurements myself, and found out that when I read out the voltage between N and S (on the indoor unit), it gives me a strange pulsating voltage readout, which is exactly the same frequency as the sound. It is only on the multi split connected units.
Unfortunately I cannot share the video because this is my first post :( but please contact me if you are interested in helping me, than I can share the video.
It switches between AC and DC, 11V and 18V and the Frequency is shifting between 8 and 25Hz.
Some other things to mention:
- The solar panels and Ground from the panels are disconnected (Carrier initially blamed my solar panels that were causing the problem)
- You hear the sound when the unit is OFF and ON.
- I rewired it to a different circuit breaker, with no result.
Hopefully someone recognizes the problem and can give some advice, otherwise I am afraid I have to deal with it :(
