In a science project with son the task is to have this fan pull IN air from side A and it exits from side B. A and B are at opposite ends of the fan.
Its part of a bigger project. The issue I have is either I can with 1 elbow connect A or with 1 elbow connect B. Whichever I choose (A or B) to have less elbows is fine but then the other side will end up having at least 3 to 4 elbows. Achieved by either mounting the box having the fan in direction X or Y.
From this site I know having too many elbows reduces CFM.
So my question is which side its preferred to have least elbows: suction side - A or the blower side - B?
If this is important then: size will be 3 PVC and for elbows it must be long elbows. The fans rated CFM is 200. I am HO so dont have static measurement devices.
The project is related to energy conservation.
