I would like to replace an old electric boiler I have that no longer works properly. I am in northeastern PA. It is heating the single story of my home via hydronic baseboards. It has three circulator pumps heating three zones. The area its heating is 1800 sq ft. My question is, what brand/type/model boiler should I replace it with. What features am I looking for in the boiler?
I will be switching to propane, as its either that or oil.
Ive had a couple quotes so far and the installers have suggested Navien and Peerless.
I asked one of these installers how they will calculate the BTUs of the new boiler. I suggested he do a manual J. He said no, he would use sq footage and the amount of linear feet of baseboard I currently have. (175 ft).
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
