I am about to have my HVAC system replaced and I want a system that is at least 16 SEER.
The condenser unit is located on my patio, and the patio sits between my townhome and my garage. The patio is walled in on all 4 sides with no access other than a typical door from a garage or door from my townhome. Both door openings are only about 31" wide, and most 16 SEER condenser units from Carrier, Daikon, Trane, etc., are about 34"-35" in their narrowest dimension. Can those condenser units be partially disassembled to get them through that door opening?
I am trying to buy a normal condensing unit and not one of the narrow European style condenser units. (1) They usually aren't 16 SEER, (2) I am in Florida, and I am worried about having fewer coils to dissipate heat, and (3) the side discharge fan will blow air toward sitting areas or my door.
Thoughts?
