Can anyone help clear the confusion here?
I understand the difference between latent and sensible load. What I do not understand is when you are comparing units of the same tonnage, how the latent/sensible ratings can be different. Well I understand it to a point, like if you are running a different CFM etc.
What I don't understand I guess is how they rate it or how the unit creates latent capacity maybe?
I had one situation where I was looking at 2 matches to the same air handler. The outdoor units were also the same manufacturer and all but identical, one was just a newer version. But they had different latent/sensible ratings while having pretty much the same total BTU rating. One had a few hundred less total BTU but had more sensible and less latent. Same air handler, same CFM, etc.
I don't really understand.
