Charge/service now or Replace (Greensboro, NC)

My daughters house in Greensboro, NC still has the original Comfortmaker HVAC system (1998 I believe). I've noticed at night time the evap coil freezes up. I showed her how to easily check by holding a tissue to the intake. She does change the filters regularly though I have no idea how clean the evap coil is. I'm going to assume it's low on Freon for now, the unit has not been serviced since she bought the house about 2 years ago.

I see 2 options:.

1) Get it serviced and re-charged if needed to make it thru summer or
2) Get quotes for a new system seeing it's 24 years old and get 'er done. (I doubt prices will be coming down anytime soon and she's potentially sitting on a time bomb)

Also - anyone in the Greensboro area that we can contact? I looked at the Contractors Map and only one popped up in "nearby" Jamestown but Google couldn't find them?

Some photos (house is a ranch, approx 1650 sqft
