I understand that placing condenser unit it attic/garage doesn't make any sense. But would it be acceptable to dig a pit in the ground (say 1.5m x 1.5m wide, 1m deep), place a condenser there and cover it with some kind of grill?
For "why" - have really small lot and it's hard to find a place for a condenser outside. Also noise concerns, placing it inside something with walls will dump noise a little bit.
I think it should be possible, since most of the installations are kind of a "pit" anyway (like units are surrounded by building walls, fences, etc.) and the real question is how big the pit should be. Most condenser units specify how far walls should be from each side of the unit. Will I be good if I just follow these guidelines?
Would it be harder to find contractors for this kind of work or is it something not out of the ordinary?
