Thanks for adding me to the forum.
I have a Goodman HVAC system 10 years old. Furnace - gks90704cx and AC - ssx140421cb
The house has three levels including the finished basement and has three zones controlled by dampers. Total area is around 3000 sq ft.
Last summer I started using MERV 12 media filter and the blower fan struggled and the set screw got loosened.
Even when only one zone is operational there is air coming out of the vents in the other zones.
However I think the back pressure created by the dampers are putting additional load on the blower.
And my electric bill has gone up by considerable amount as well.
What are improvements that I should consider if I were to replace HVAC system?
Or should I use the existing dampers/duct work and replace only the furnace and AC.
