Single stage thermostat with multstage system zone controller

I currently have a HZ432 zone controller with a 2 stage heat pump. I want to replace one of my thermostats but do I need to spend the extra money on a 3H/2C thermostat when the HZ432 is handling the staging of the equipment based on %zones? It seems like a single stage thermostat would cover my needs for a lot less money?
