My house came with a LG LA180HYV1, 18000btu ductless mini-split. It works great cooling the house in the summer and maintains a consistent temperature. But in the winter, if it's set to the heat or "Ai" modes, it just keeps heating. Like if I set it to 19 degrees, it keeps firing out hot air until the room reaches 25+ degrees. And the outdoor unit sounds like it's running flat-out all the time.
I found someone who ran into this issue 10 years ago on this forum (also here in Nova Scotia, weirdly) but they never posted any outcome.
I've dug into the indoor unit, it's clean and the thermistor is clean so I'm assuming it's getting a good temperature reading. Plus again, it doesn't seem to have any problem maintaining a consistent temperature when it's heating in the summer.
Anyone else ever run into this issue and have any suggestions? Thanks!
