We have two Carrier split system AC units that are one year old. The environment is in Hawaii within 300 feet of ocean. We get a lot of salt spray because the waves break against rocks, not a beach. We had not been rinsing them off as regularly as we should until the last 2 months. A close up photo of the fins now appears to suddenly show the aluminum fins separating from the copper tubing in several places near where there has also been a white powder buildup. We have recently used acsaltremover on the units.
Is fine separation possible?
