4" media filter cabinet installed in return duct. Open face of filter is 18" x 23". Top transition opening for the air entry side of the filter measures 18 x 23. Bottom transition opening for air exit side measures 17.5 x 23. I'm thinking probably good the 18 x 23 transition is located on the air entry side of filter. Would this .5" difference cause any loss of filtration of the filter ? Very pleased with the static drop of the merv 11 filter. I measured .10 drop @ 1000 cfm.
