Speaking with a neighbor who recently had his heating and cooling system replaced with Trane equipment from a different contractor, the subject of energy efficiency and variable speed furnaces came up.
Looked at his system and thermostat, also a XL824, and his installers wired his system using the BK terminal. I peeked behind the thermostat in my home and see that the BK terminal isnt being used. Im perplexed, two similar units right down to furnace and thermostats yet the control wiring is different.
Shouldnt the BK terminal be utilized for maximum system performance especially with the 2-speed condensing unit and variable speed furnace?
