Hey Guys,
New to this forum and glad to have found this place!
I had a question that I haven't seen with my exact conditions so i wanted to ask.
I currently have a 3 ton Mitsubishi MXZ Hyper Heat condensing unit installed with (1) 3-ton SVZ central fan coil, and (1) 1/2 ton GL head in the master bedroom. Due to existing ductwork height constraints I do not have electric strip backup. So I only have the heat pump for heating (hence the Hyper Heat for the few very cold days). No natural gas is available where i live.
Location: Seattle
Question: Should I have a night setback on the main fancoil? If so what temperature delta should it be? Since i dont have the electric strip heat, the heat pump would just run longer to meet setpoint. But at what point does the sudden high demand cost outweight just having a higher setback and maintaining setpoint? Im sure there is alot of "well it depends" questions, so if you have them please ask and ill do my best to answer them.
Thanks!
