Hi I have a FV4C indoor unit & 25HNH outdoor unit (Carrier Heat pump). Today there is a louder than normal low-pitched vibrating/humming sound that is coming from the indoor unit. Actually, it's hard to say, maybe it is coming from the outdoor unit and being piped into the indoor unit? Due to the 10F-20F weather today, it has been running most of the day, but the hum sometimes quits for an hour and the indoor machine does not sound like it is in an "intense" mode. The heat pump is still working but the sound is really annoying to me and I am concerned it might be something getting ready to break. But if I call out a service-person I am afraid it will be in its stage of no hum for an hour. Is there a way for them to thoroughly test/quiet it even without the hum present? Thanks.
