Seems to be several posts about these units making noise but none of them mention the noise that my unit is making. I know about the "normal" defrost mode noises but this sound recently is happening almost all the time. It's a continuous ringing(?) Ying..Ying...Ying...Ying sound coming from the right side of the indoor unit. Similar to the older compressors in window AC units. The outdoor unit did have some ice buildup on the bottom of the fins so I melted it but the noise is still there. It seems to have gotten louder and is now keeping us awake at night to the point of us shutting it off. Besides this noise this unit has several issues with the flare leaking and pretty severe mold & smell formation, also the outdoor fan blade sometimes gets so unbalanced from ice buildup that it goes into error mode & it does not dehumidify a fraction as well as the big old whole house setup that we had. Any help would be appreciated. Hope the video link works....
