Deciding between replacing 2 split systems, or upgrading to one larger one. Help plz

First time post here, lurked the board for awhile for answers, but figured I'd officially join and get your guys' thoughts on my situation if you'd be so kind.

I have two split systems in my home that I moved into in 2018, due to the former owners putting on an addition that required an extra system. One is a 2.5 ton Lennox from 2002 that had the compressor go out in September of 2020 that needs replaced (furnace still works), the other is a 3-ton Bryant unit from 2006 that is running. Lennox is a 50k input furnace, and Bryant is a 80k input furnace, both at 92% AFUE. I will either be replacing both systems, or upgrading to a single 5-ton unit.

Both split systems are located fairly close to one another, so my question is would it make sense to duct them together and replace them both with a new modulating 5-ton unit? I wouldn't be able to replace most of the ductwork, but would be able to replace the main branches that come out of the air handler, and also the ductwork to the 2.5 ton unit that serves the addition. Do you think this would pose any issues to static pressure going from a 3-ton to a 5-ton, but ducting them together and increasing duct size coming off of the air handler?

Any advice or input is greatly appreciated!!!
