I apologize if this is an inappropriate post, but Ive learned a lot reading this forum so Id thought Id ask. Im having my local sheet metal shop make all my new ductwork, but money is a little tight so Im making all the fittings, reducers, etc. Is there a formula figuring the length of reducer or just as long as its not to drastic? Im a metal fabricator (unfortunately a laid off one) so I have a fairly decent ability to make everything, but we never really went thinner than 18ga at work.
