Lennox Humiditrol and air conditioning

Hello and greetings from Lima, Peru.

In October 2019, my family and I moved into our newly built home. This house needed two separate central air conditioning and humidity control systems. RH in Lima is close to 95% year round, and temperature rarely goes below 60 ºF or above 92 ºF – so no central heating needed. However, airborne dust is a serious issue. The contractor I engaged for the project suggested, and eventually sold and installed, two complete and independent systems.

Each system comprises:
Lennox Air Conditioning Unit, Model TSA036S4N44Y and Model CBA25UHV-036-2, 36,000 BTU
Lennox Humiditrol EDA Model EDA-060D-01
Loren Cook Booster, Model 135-SQI-HP
HEALTHY CLIMATE Filter and UV Light, Model PCO 3-14 -16
Lennox ComfortSense 7500 control

More than a year and several tens of thousand dollars later, neither system is fully working as desired. We do get cold air through the air conditioners, but humidity levels don’t go lower than 60% after having the systems running for 3 to 5 hours. However, the contractor’s technicians were able to verify that all units turn on. Each system services an area no bigger than 650 square feet.

The contractor eventually admitted that this is the first time that a similar system is imported into the country. They have no previous experience with the systems whatsoever. I have contacted Lennox HQ, and am still waiting to hear back from them.

Been myself an engineer (no experience whatsoever with HVAC), I started reading the manuals for the Humiditrol. I was able to determine that the issue with RH might be due to a configuration/programming problem.

1. The Humiditrol takes a parameter on how it should overcool the rooms, after the AC has been running – this parameter can be set to either MIN, MAX, or MID. My understanding on how this thing works is that first the AC will work until it reaches the set cool-to temperature, and then the dehumidification per-se starts as long as room temperature doesn’t go past 2 F lower? If this is the case, then the Humiditrol’s configuration should be based on the MIN parameter, and not the MAX (or MID) parameter since I don’t have a heater?

2. Is there any negative interaction between the booster and the Humiditrol or AC unit that might damage them or influence on the results I have?

Thank you for reading!!!
