I’ve had the same heat pump system for about 5 years now and 2 days ago a low hum started at the return air vent. It had been about 6 weeks since I changed the filter so I replaced it and the hum didn’t stop. I removed the grill just in case and that did nothing. The hum stops as soon as the filter is off so it’s hard to pin point where it’s coming from. Could a blockage somewhere cause this?
The system is working fine otherwise. I wouldn’t be bothered by it but the vent is in our living room where we watch TV and it’s slowly driving us crazy. Please help!
