I recently installed a Goodman 2 stage propane furnace 96 efficient 80k btu with a 3 ton outdoor heat pump unit. So got it all setup and finally got it to run by using the CoolCloud app. The problem is I can only get the thing to utilize gas/propane heating and according to the literature it should be using the heat pump along with 1st and 2nd stage heating based on algorithms and timing. If I put a jumper wire on y1 and w1 and switch the tstat to heat pump mode i can use the heat pump and then switch to gas/propane heating by hitting emergency heat. But from what I understand it should be able to be wired as a single stage unit then I just change the temperature and the brain in the furnace does the rest. Am I missing something? Please help!!
