We have a Rheem RP17 3-Stage 2-ton heat pump that has worked well for four years. It was working well in cool mode a few days ago, and it was working well in heat mode yesterday. Today the system blew cold air while calling for heat. I was away at the time. Tonight I checked it out and found that the outdoor unit wasn't running. I checked the breakers; all good. I switched the breakers off, let it sit for ten minutes and turned them back on. No joy. It's dark and raining outside, so I haven't checked to see if some joker thru the outdoor shutoff switch. This isn't an emergency but scheduled PM is still a few weeks off. Is there anything else I should check before calling it an emergency? It probably won't be a real emergency before the scheduled PM, as this isn't the only heating system in the house. Thanks in advance for your thoughts on the matter.
