Kind regards
I live in Southern California and have a Service Animal. My employment provides me with an apartment at a steep discount, so that I can afford to live in an otherwise very expensive area. This apartment is not air conditioned, and the temperature in the summer can hit 100+, which could kill my Service Animal.
I had a very nicely installed window AC for the summer, and there was no problem. I built custom bracketry and paint matched it to the apartment, and I didn't use any screws or damage anything getting it in, and it was above my balcony, so it wasn't a safety hazard. Well, they made me remove it last week and they will not provide air conditioning for my Service Animal. I don't want to get into drama with them, so I'm searching for my own solution.
A mini split would be great, and I can place this on the balcony without anyone seeing it, but I have to pass the line set through a bracket in the sliding door. This works great, except that I need to be able to remove the line set when they do inspections. They are fine with everything, except for the bracket that installs in the sliding door, because it prevents me from being able to lock the door.
For reference: I am an engineer, and I have a R-410A certification.
Are there any line sets available that can be easily removed and reattached without degrading, which are shorter lengths, like 8 ft? Is there a clever way to attach something like ball valves to the system which would allow everything to stay pressurized except for a few feet of line set that I need to remove so that I can remove the bracket in the window?
Ideas appreciated. Much thanks!
