I have a new bosch variable speed, 3 ton unit. Ac company gave 2 options, 1 is new duct work, 2 is add a return vent, sealant of duck, and add dampers. 2nd option is 60% less costly than 1st. The unit is 18.5 seer. Right now the unit run only at 15 seer due to restriction of air flow (.8 static pressure). They said if i go with the 2nd option it will increase the seer level to about 16.5 to 17. The 1st option will increase to 18.5. The problem i have is hot and cold area, thermostat set at 75 but felt like 78-79. What do you guys think i should go with?
