This is a general question to avoid any rule breakage. We are finishing our basement. In order to minimize soffits, we would like to re-route some ducts to traverse the edges of the room. We would be able to shorten a 12x8 trunk by approximately 6 feet but cause three 6" runs to be lengthened by about 6' each.
I know that there are a lot of calcs that go into designing ductwork for balancing static pressure, etc.
Typically, how much wiggle room is there to allow for modifications before a redesign is needed?
Any suggestions or direction pointing is greatly appreciated.
