What HVAC replacement option should I choose?

I live in Kansas and am about to replace a 17 year old AC and plan to replace the furnace of the same age with it. Have got 4-5 quotes.

My interest is in the most comfort, especially even temps around the house. Ike bedroom at the far end of duct run is about 4-5 degrees away from thermostat area. The house is well insulated and built in 2003. Discomfort is felt when my current single stage system is not running. Expecting a modulating system to solve that by a low fan running most of the time.

The two options I am considering are:
1) Daikin fit 5 ton 18 SEER AC paired with a 97 AFUE DM97C Furnace. It comes with 12 year labor and parts warranty in addition to the typical coil and compressor warranties. There is a condition of regular maintenance required to get the labor and parts warranty.

2) Lennox XC20 20 SEER paired with SL99V 99 AFUE furnace. There is only 1 year labor warranty, other warranties being 10 years.

Both are reasonably reputed, but the second contractor seems to be the one getting contracts in my neighborhood, a well to do area. They were also the one who put in the original systems in my neighborhood when it was built in 2003 and all load calculations and duct work was installed. Price quotes for both are the same.

What would you pick? I like option 2 but worry about expensive repairs. Other in my neighborhood generally keep annual maintenance plans which I hate to do. Is there more risk with option 2? How does Daikin compare with Lennox?

Thanks.
