Evaporator Pan Not Level in Case

Hello,

I'm in need of some input on what the appropriate approach is for ensuring a coil pan is properly pitched inside it's case.

I had a new Carrier Infinity system put in February 2019. Starting with cooling season we have had a lot of issues with humidity, odors, and severe allergenic issues that never existed prior to this system install. They returned again here in summer 2020 like clockwork. After calling for service there were suspected issues with the original new evap and we recently warranty swapped out the CNPVP48 N coil leaving the original case. I also installed a UV light above the coil. After replacing the coil the odors and issues went away. 3 weeks later they returned and now we have discovered that the coil pan is 1/4 inch off level the wrong way away from the drain so water is sitting in the pan. You can see an actual slight gap on the left (drain) side between the case and bottom of pan. Temporarily shimming the right side 1/4 inch with screwdriver gets the inside of tray perfectly level but my understanding is that it should be pitched unlevel toward drain which would require even more lift than .25 maybe .375. When i shim it .375 i can watch the water drain properly. I do however worry that shimming the right front will cause water to flow to the rear because for whatever reason we cannot get the rear to rise. To clarify, The small level was set inside the tray itself not the case.

Contractor is saying they only slide into case one way and if furnace is level and case is mounted correctly then the pitch should be as needed. Furnace is almost perfectly level left to right and appropriately tilted forward .24-.375. I'm not sure if the original coil was level and this was a problem created in the warranty swap or if there was some sort of issue on the manufacturing of the mounting system within the case itself. I understand the contractor's point being that if the case is placed properly the insides should all be pitched properly. His only idea was to shove a shim of some sort under the right side of pan and silicone it into place. His service manager has never seen this issue and he has no solution other than to try shimming the front right side of pan or leave it and deal with it. Interestingly in fan only or heating mode we have no odor or allergenic issues. I'm thinking this must be a sitting water issue creating the odor. Shout out to Teddy Bear for the advice that lead to this discovery.

I'm not totally opposed to the shim solution but I'm feeling like maybe there is a bigger issue with the coil mounting inside the case and that there may be a more appropriate fix for this than a hodge podge shim. I would be grateful for any insight. Thank you.
