It is consistently colder here now and I wanted to see what changes I may need to make to my new HVAC system. Pulling some data from my Ecobee, on average my natural gas furnace runs 21 times per day with an average run time of 18-20 minutes per cycle, with temperature in the low 30's. I'm only using stage 1 heat currently, I have the thermostat set to not go to stage 2 unless stage 1 can not keep up. Reading online (Google) it seems that the average cycle per hour is 2-3 times and a run time of 10-15 minutes. Should I make any of the following changes?
-Allow stage 2 to come on which will cut down on my run time?
-Set the temperature swing to less which will allow shorter but more frequent run times, adding comfort?
-Leave things alone and see how it does when the weather gets much colder.
Thanks,
