Replacing furnace and air conditioner what are best options before I commit

I am looking for advice and options on replacing my 60000 BTU Lennox Pulse that finally gave out. I have owned the home for 17 years and it is original to the house (1990) which is 2400 SF and I am surprised it lasted this long. The company who serviced my unit always said it is undersized for my home but it always seemed to do the job. I have had it serviced every year and they told me to ride it out as long as you can. I will be moving in the next 5 years so I am looking for suggestions on what the professionals would do if they were in my situation and this was your home. The furnace needs replacing for sure, would you replace with another high efficiency or would you replace with one that is not? What brand and model would you choose and why? I figured the best folks to ask are the ones who service them. I am wondering if the cost savings of a non high efficiency is worth it or even possible to do. Not going the high efficiency rout and I will not be around to see the savings so that's why I am asking. My AC unit is the same age and also a Lennox but unsure of model # because I cant find it. I am assuming I would need to replace this not because its not working but its compatibility and the likely hood it's also not big enough like my existing furnace. I am not asking on pricing my market will dictate that and I am more that sure my current contractor will take care of me. Their current options are Carrier, Bryant, and Goodman. Would you go with this brand or would you choose another one? Your opinions are greatly appreciated and thank you in advance...
