Why doesn't a 2 story foyer or family room count as double the sq feet, as there is double the air to be cooled?
I have almost 500 "extra" square feet of space as I have a large 2 story family room and 2 story foyer. The heat from my first floor rises upstairs and makes the upstairs very hot in the summer.
