So, few numbers first:
wet bulb: 66 F
Dry bulb: 82 F
Tech says superheat is 16. I use as app and it says same.
Next, my unit suction psi is 78
suction temp is 73 now. So, according to app, i'm at 27 superheat. So, it says add refrigerant. Ps. this is a 4 ton R22 Goodman unit.
Tech says it's fine coz the suction line is now sweating. App calculator says add refrigerant.
What's going on? Add more? Also, i saw that R22 system runs at suction psi of 75 to 80 psi and i'm already at 78 and still way off the calculation.
Confused as to add more but then tech says it'll damage compressor.
Additional measurements that i did on my own are intake/return duct has 78 F and output air at closest duct is 61 F.
Suction line just started sweating after i told tech to add more coz the app (Super cool) says to add.
My main concern is for sure making my unit underefficient but more importantly, will it damage unit if i go with app to keep adding R22?
What am i missing?
